Video support MacOS

Hi,

I am new to AddaxAI, thank you for making this wonderful software available.

I installed version 6.23 on an M1 apple notebook running Sequoia 15.1.1. I tried the software on advanced mode, with videos and images in my input folder. It won’t let me analyze videos. This is the error message:
Video support for SpeciesNet will be available in a future AddaxAI release, please uncheck ‘process videos’.

I am using the Global Species Net model, with geographical location. The input folder is on an external hard drive.

The analysis with images only runs great!

I also noticed that the menu bar calls the application “python”, not AddaxAI. When I hover over the AddaxAI icon on the bar at the bottom, the displayed label says python 3.8

After further testing, I was able to analyze videos if I run detection only (no model selected for animal ID). The only model I tried is the Global.

Hi @natval ,

You’re experiencing the beta version of the global model (speciesnet). In the new updated version of AddaxAI you’ll be able to run it on videos too!

I’m afraid you’ll have to wait for that.

All the other models do work on videos, but pleae note that the postprocessing is mostly only- images. So try it out on a small testset before you go all in and find out your desired result is not available on videos. That would be a shame.

… long storey short: everything will be better with the new AddaxAI version. Working on it!
